Welcome to KOVE (Kilburn Older Voices Exchange), where the vibrant spirit of our community is echoed through the collective voice of our older residents in West Hampstead and Kilburn. We are not just a community action group; we are a dynamic force committed to enhancing the lives of older individuals by addressing their needs and aspirations.
At KOVE, we stand tall as social campaigners advocating for essential amenities such as public toilets and accessible benches, amplifying the voices of our community. Our multifaceted approach revolves around three key pillars: community development, creative and digital initiatives, and support and activities. Membership is free.
our campaigning efforts are aimed at fostering a more inclusive and age-friendly environment. We believe in empowering older individuals to actively participate in shaping local policies and decisions, ensuring their perspectives are heard and valued. Some of our initiatives include the upcoming World Toilet Day march, the Kilburn bench audit and campaigns for increased safety on and around Kilburn High Road.
KOVE sparks creativity through programmes like REEL KOVE—a filmmaking initiative that captures the stories and experiences of our community. Placard making sessions hosted at Metroland Studios further showcase our commitment to embracing the digital age while preserving the rich tapestry of our collective memories. KOVE has produced a number of short film documentaries which are available to view on demand.
Our support and activities pillar encompasses flagship programmes like ‘Bench to Bench local’ and ‘Bench to Bench London’ walks, which not only promote physical well-being but also serve as a platform for meaningful connections within our community. At KOVE, we recognise the importance of fostering a supportive environment that goes beyond traditional notions of ageing.
